The company’s major areas of expertise are in the running of gas-fired turbines, engineering maintenance, gas coalescing and filtering stations, water treatment, and relevant chemical processes for power plants.
Pacific Energy Company Limited is currently participating in the Power Sector Reform in the country through its ownership and operation of two vibrant power generating stations; ‘Omotosho I’ and ‘Olorunsogo I’ Power Stations which have an installed capacity of 335MW each, making Pacific Energy’s total power generation capacity 670MW. With their well-above average operating efficiency despite the numerous challenges besetting theindustry, Pacific Energy’s power plants are some of the best performing facilities in Nigeria today.
Having employed the services of international technical consultants as well as indigenous experts with a high level of competency in the field of engineering, Pacific Energy’s power plants owe their smooth and efficient operations to these individuals and teams who continue to foster a strong maintenance culture at the power plants whilst delivering major turnkey overhauls and intermediate maintenance assiduously, and at appropriate times.
With its rising profile in the Nigerian Power Sector, Pacific Energy Company continues to break new ground in the area of power generation, and with its crop of seasoned in-house experts with exceptional track records, the company looks set to become the top power generating company in Nigeria.
In response to the Federal Government’s privatization drive as a key component of its Power Sector Reforms, Pacific Energy Company Limited was incorporated on the 18th of June 2001. The company was created as a means of participating in the Power Sector with an initial focus on designing, testing , operating and maintaining power generation and distribution equipment.
With its strong technical partnerships with two prominent power generation and electrical companies in China, Pacific Energy was able to gain a foothold in the power sector – a critical launching pad for its ambition of owning and operating power plants in the country. In October 2006, Pacific Energy Company realised this vision when it successfully bid for and won the rights to operate the Olorunsogo Power Company located in Ogun State. This was followed in December 2006 by the successful acquisition of Omotosho I Power Company located in Ondo State.
With two fully operational power plants in its custody, Pacific Energy Company is currently expanding the generation capacity of these facilities whilst actively taking steps to fulfil its ultimate Vision of building the biggest and most ultramodern power generation plant in Sub-Saharan Africa.
