Operation and Maintenance of 335MW Generating Plant at Omotosho (Phase 1)
Pacific Energy took over the Omotosho power generating plant during the sale, acquisition and privatization of power plants in Nigeria. This 335MW capacity power plant has been rehabilitated with major turnkey maintenance carried out on all of its gas turbines.
It is daily operated and maintained by a team of Pacific Energy staff and boasts of generating 95% of its installed capacity evident by the recently concluded capacity test carried out by NBET.
Engr. Samuel K. Itsekiri
MD/CEO (Omotosho 1)
Engr. Samuel K. Itsekiri started his professional career as an Oil Field Engineer with Schlumberger in Paris in 1981.
He joined the now defunct NEPA and later PHCN in 1985 where he rose to the position of MD/CEO in 2012, a position he still holds in Omotosho l. His educational background is in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc.) and Business Administration (MBA) from University of Ibadan and University of Benin respectively. He is a registered Engineer with COREN, a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He also holds a Postgraduate diploma in Management from West London College of Technology.
Engr. Gao Jian Min
General Manager/HOD Maintenance (Omotosho 1)
Engr. Gao Jian Min is a Mechatronics Engineer and a graduate of the Northwestern Polytechnic University, China who joined Pacific Energy at the Omotosho I facility in March 2014.
With over 23 years’ experience of the electric power industry prior to joining Omotosho I, he possesses a deep level of expertise in the management, operation and maintenance of power plants having functioned as the Manager of the Maintenance Department at Yangpu Power Station in China; a role which he held for 9 years. He is highly experienced in the operation of hydro, thermal and gas turbines and is therefore a well-rounded power generation expert whose knowledge and expertise are an asset to Omotosho I.
Engr. Waliyu A.Onifade
Principal Manager /Head, Operations
Engr. Waliyu A.Onifade studied Mechanical Engineering at Yaba college of Technology. Later he obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Akure.

Later he obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Akure and is a registered member of COREN, a member of The Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM) and more. He has over 20 year’s cognate experience in the Electric power industry. He started his career at the now defunct NEPA and later PHCN in 1988 as a pupil officer. In 2012 he rose to the position of Principal Manager and Head of the Operation Department, a position he still holds in Omotosho Electric Energy Ltd.
